Hollywood action hero Steven Seagal is about to become a reality television star, in the upcoming A&E series ‘Steven Seagal:Lawman’ scheduled to air in late 2009. Seagal has been a fully commissioned deputy with the Jefferson Parish County Sheriff’s Office in New Orleans, Louisiana, for the last 20 years, and the show will chronicle his activities as a real cop.
In an acting career that has spanned over 25 years, Seagal’s films have grossed over $2 billion at the box office, with many of his roles portraying law enforcement officers.
Steven Seagal possesses a 7th-degree black belt in the martial arts discipline of Aikido, and is said to be an outstanding marksman. Most recently, Seagal has been training his fellow police officers in hand-to-hand combat tactics and going on routine street patrols.
