Jammu, August 03 (Scoop News) – The leaders of Joint forum of Kashmiri Pandit organisations called arson and stone pelting in Kashmir as a primitive and crude form of terrorism.
Virender Raina, National spokesperson made a brief presentation of the current political developments. He said the people involved in Stone pelting & arson in Kashmir deserve no sympathy because the same people are responsible for the genocide and exodus of half a million Kashmiri Hindus. The so-called cry for self-determination and resolution of Kashmiri issue is no justification for indulging in arson, loot, vedalisation of public property and terrorism. The displaced Kashmiri Pandit community has the first right over any political or economic package as they are the worst sufferers of the Kashmiri imbroglio.
H.L.Chatta, General Secretary-ASKPC in his speech made a categorical demand for reorganization of the Jammu and Kashmir state. There are many stakeholders in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and who have full faith in the constitution and unity and integrity of India. Their core interests deserve to be protected and cannot be bartered away in the name of rehabilitation of stone-pelters and terrorists. Kashmir issue is a settled issue and India needs to make this point known in an unambiguous manner to one and all.
Prof. M.L.Raina while addressing the meeting said that there is no need for Government of India to keep any false hope of “settlement of Kashmir issue” alive and people in Kashmir need to be told that their destinies are linked with India. Kashmir issue is a ploy of Pakistan to undermine India’s position. Terrorism and arson have always been used by Pakistan as a matter of policy to damage Indian interests in Kashmir. There is an earnest need to put a halt to the tactic of blackmail for all the times to come.
A.N.Vaishnavi in his concluding remarks made an appeal to the members of the community to exhibit their unity of purpose at this crucial hour of destiny of the state. He said that a lot of sacrifices have been made by the nationalist forces including the Pandit community for the unity and integrity of the nation in this state. There is a paramount need to protect the essence of these sacrifices by being vigilant. The leaders, activists and intellectuals of the community are advised to close rank and file at all levels and keep in close touch with the activities of the Joint Forum and strengthen it.
