The Stop The Pork Lawsuit whose butchery in the New York court I reported previously Stop The Pork Lawsuit Butchered In Supreme Court http://groundreport.com/articles.php?id=2890386 will have its appeal heard on Monday April 26th according to Buffalo attorney James Ostrowski http://politicalclassdismissed.com/?p=10324. The lawsuit contends that corporate welfare in New York violates our state’s constitution. I contributed to the legal fund and was added as one of the plaintiffs.
The suit names as defendants Governor Paterson, the Senate and Assembly leadership, the Empire State Development Corporation (ESDC) and various corporations, including IBM.
The Empire State Development Corporation is the principal driver in New York of both corporate welfare and eminent domain abuse, including Atlantic Yards and the NY Times headquarters scheme I dubbed Time$cam.
Those who wish to help this effort should send contributions to James Ostrowski, Esq., 984 Ellicott Square, Buffalo, NY 14203 USA marked Stop The Pork.
While I wish this effort well, I believe that change is more likely to come from the ballot box than the courtroom. Vote only for candidates who oppose corporate welfare and eminent domain abuse. In my case, that means primarily Libertarian Party candidates.
