Srinagar,December 28 (Scoop News) – Minister for Revenue and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla Friday said that State Government is making all out efforts to provide financial assistance to the families affected by natural calamities and in this connection, the Government extended full support to the families of Valley affected by the windstorm.
The Minister was addressing a cheques distribution function here today, organized for providing financial assistance to natural calamity affected families, heavy snowfall, fire affected and other persons who suffered property loss in various unfortunate incidents this year.
Bhalla distributed Rs. 2.87 crore in the term of cheques among 4377 families whose residential houses were damaged by strong winds and storm on 19th and 20th March this year.
Earlier, the Minister inspected Land Information System Section of Revenue Training College at Bemina and also took stock of the functioning of Computer Lab.
Bhalla was informed that the Lab is first of its kind where revenue records have been computerized for facilitating the stakeholders with necessary information. He was further informed that 1100 villages of Valley have been covered till date and records of 550 villages are available on website.
The Minister also went round Muhafiz Khanna of Revenue complex where revenue records are kept safe.
The authorities concerned demanded additional infrastructure for maintaining custody of revenue records and Minister assured that necessary steps will be taken in this regard.
Interacting with 750 under training Patwaris in the Revenue Training School, the Minister expressed satisfaction on the working of training programme. He was told that six months training is being given to Patwaris.
Bhalla said that the Government is strongly considering the adjustment of these candidates in Government job after successful completion of their training.
The Minister was accompanied by Director, Land Records, Additional District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Tehsildar North, Settlement Officer and other concerned officers.
