Strange and wonderful facts about angels in the New Testament

“Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares” Hebrews 13:2

While scholars and scientists endlessly debate the question of whether or not we are alone in the universe and vainly search the cosmos for any signs of extraterrestrial life – those of us who “believe” in the existence of “One God” already know we are not alone.

We know, for example that we share our physical universe with extra dimensional, non physical beings called “angels” – who I would argue are by their very definition “extraterrestrial.”

An extraterrestrial is basically a being who “originated outside the limits of the earth.”

An angel (from the Greek ἄγγελος ángelos, “messenger”), is a supernatural being first and foremost.

Angels are described throughout the Old and New testament in rather extraordinary detail.

Neither do we doubt the existence of angels or God, as the unbelievers do.

What follows are some interesting facts relating to angels as found in the new testament:

1) Angels have unique personalities and individual names  (Jude 9, Rev 12:2,8).

2) God maketh his angels “spirits” (Heb 1:7, 1:14).

3) Angels do not marry or are given in marriage (Matt 22:30).

4) Angels sometimes appear to us as “strangers” and we entertain them unaware of who they are (Heb 13:2).

5) Angels comfort us during difficult times (Matt 4:11, and Luke 22: 43).

6) Children (little ones) have personal angels (Matt 18:10).
