Struggling to Pay Off Student Loans?

Millions of Americans are struggling to pay down the more than $850 billion in outstanding student loan debt in the United States. Debt on student loans even surpassed credit card debt earlier this year. For some, paying down student debt is especially hard because they become disabled and are no longer able to work.

It is difficult for borrowers to get student loans forgiven for any reason, and disability is no exception. Most private loans do not offer a disability discharge, and federal loans require borrowers to navigate a challenging discharge process managed by the Department of Education.
