A 21-year-old dental student Karthik has committed suicide before a webcam.
The third year student ended his life before a webcam while chatting with his girlfriend.

The third year student was found hanging from the ceiling fan in his hostel room on Friday.
The web camera of his computer was still on, focusing on his ceiling fan.
Before killing himself, he was chatting online with his girlfriend, apparently his cousin who is in Delhi.
As per the police, the chat lasted around 40 minutes. Deputy Superintendent of Police Abdul Kareem said, ”We cannot reveal the whole thing now. However, during the chat, the boy was continuously hinting about his suicide, saying repeatedly that he would commit suicide. The girl was asking not to do anything of that sort. She said this repeatedly.”
Police don’t want to reveal the girl’s identity now fearing that she may take some extreme step.
Karthik’s friends said he often used to shut himself in his room and chat with his girlfriend.
Their affair ran into trouble after their families came to know about it.
Everyone at Karthik’s hostel is completely shocked at this unfortunate incident and they are still trying to come to terms with the incident.
Manish, president of student union, says, ”He was a very good guy. Whatever happened is unfortunate. It is a great loss for us. We are all under a state of shock. Our condolences are with the family.
College authorities are planning corrective measures. C V Pradeep, dental college principal, says, ”we would like to introduce a programme where the inter personal relationship of students improve. It is on one to one basis. There is also a need for the staff student relationship to improve so that students can confide in them.
