Improve Self-confidence
Proddatur (GR-TYP-BIN): Students must need subject knowledge and self-confidence in addition to marks and ranks, said Mrs. Jahnavi Reddy, English Professor, Narayanamma English College (Hyderabad). Vaagdevi Institute of Technology and Science (VITS) organized a seminar on ‘Skills required in interviews – Job Opportunities’ on April 20.
Addressing in the seminar, the Professor said that the students are unable to succeed in facing the interviews due to inferiority complex, lack of subject knowledge, communicative skills and nervousness. Especially, these are the obvious reasons for the students of rural background, she added. These problems can be overcome if the interviews, group discussions and interactions are made compulsory for the students under the supervision of personality development experts.
Mrs. Jahnavi Reddy said that the students are concentrating more on securing marks and ranks rather than improving their subject knowledge. This unsound competition is desperately affecting their natural growth of personality and job opportunities as well. If the students possess Self-confidence, Subject Knowledge & Communicative Skills, success is not impossible for them, the Professor stressed.
Later, she conducted the mock interviews and group discussions for the students and explained the techniques how to face the interviews.
VITS Director Mr. PR Babaji, Principal Dr. N Kumara Swamy, Faculty Members and Students participated in the programme.
