Students star in honor of incidents Jaime Guzman in East Campus

 Guests at the ceremony that took place in one of the courtyards of the campus, including ministers and parliamentarians from the UDI, had moved to a ballroom of the site due to the arrival of the demonstrators.

 
Moments of high tension is lived on Thursday afternoon at the East Campus of Catholic University, where about a hundred students "Funo" a tribute that was made in one of the courtyards of the enclosure to Jaime Guzmán , the twentieth anniversary the existence of the foundation that bears his name. The demonstrators, who threw eggs and pamphlets against the audience, among whom were IDUs parliamentarians and ministers of state, demanded a constituent assembly resulting in a constitutional reform and more resources to fund public education.
 
 
The event would assist the President Sebastián Piñera , who would even be one of the speakers, but ultimately declined to attend the event.
 
Event organizers decided, then, to avoid a major confrontation and did a tribute in a campus ballroom. " Meanwhile, Senator Hernan Larrain (UDI) described the situation as "very sad, because a group of UC students can not accept that be reminded of a former professor at the university who was killed in the door of this house of studies when he was a senator elected in a democratic way. " The senator referred to the murder on April 1, 1991, to Jaime Guzman Errazuriz , who taught constitutional law at UC and was shot by members of the Manuel Rodriguez Patriotic Front on the edge of East Campus.
