Successful “CAUDAEQUINA SYNDROME” Surgery in Police Hospital Srinagar

Srinagar/Jammu, December 17 (Scoop News) – In a landmark achievement, doctors of Police Hospital Srinagar headed by Dr. Suhail Afzal performed a successful Orthopedic Surgery today. The procedure lasted for three hours and the patient  Mohammad Yousuf is recovering well.

            Giving details, Medical Superintendent, Police Hospital Srinagar, Dr. Mohammad Shafi Koka said that the surgery was performed on a patient suffering from “CAUDAEQUINA SYNDROME SECONDARY TO APACE OCCUPYING LESION OF SPINE” and had developed Neurological deficit of lower limbs with bladder involvement. He said that during the procedure Dr. Suhail was assisted by his Operation theatre staff and Anesthetist, Dr. Baljeet Kour.

Dr. Suhail is performing different arthroscopic procedure for last one year with resounding successes, said Dr. Koka. He has praised the dedication and professional abilities of Dr. Suhail. Medical Superintendent said that Police Hospital Srinagar has been providing specialized ENT Endoscopic and Laparoscopic general surgical facilities to the patients.  

            Dr. Suhail after performing the successful operation thanked his staff, who assisted him during the procedure, for their technical and moral support. He said that due to support, supervision and encouragement from Medical Superintendent, the procedure has been made possible in Police Hospital.

            Earlier this year, the doctors of Police Hospital had performed two successful cancer surgeries on the patients suffering from Carcinoma of Sigmoid Colon and Stomach Cancer. The surgeries were described as a mile stone achievement and were hailed at large.
