1888PressRelease – Maintenance professionals, representing member companies, delved into the most important issues impacting maintenance performance.
The NationaLease Maintenance Managers Meeting held in Fort Lauderdale, FL, May 13-15, gave attendees a chance to discuss the major issues facing truck maintenance professionals and an opportunity to discover the latest in truck technology and maintenance from top suppliers.
Dean Vicha, President of NationaLease, opened the three-day event for the North American organization of independent full service truck leasing companies with a review of NationaLease’s successes in 2014. He then introduced the event’s keynote speaker, former NFL referee, Jerry Markbreit, who spoke about the importance of giving one’s all in any endeavor, whether in sports, business, or everyday life.
Each year, the Maintenance Managers Meeting tackles the major issues that impact maintenance teams and the companies they work for. During this year’s event, there were sessions on technician training best practices, warranty management, rebate submissions, electronic logging devices (ELDs), and breakout sessions with top suppliers from the trucking industry. In addition, attendees received updates on many of the organization’s member programs, including Supply Management, Capital Equipment, Repair Advocacy, and NationaLease’s highly praised Reciprocal Service program. Along with these programs, attendees also heard updates on NationaLease initiatives, including the Emergency Services and Fuel Directory app, technician recruiting, and Leadership Groups.
The Idea Session, one of the most popular sessions of the meeting, allowed attendees to share ideas and best practices they’ve used at their companies that have offered savings in time, money and productivity, as well as those that have improved morale or increased customer satisfaction. Attendees then voted on the three top ideas, and prizes were awarded. Another highlight of the event was the Product and Technology Fair, an annual event which gives maintenance professionals and leading suppliers an opportunity to meet face-to-face, to discuss the latest products, services, and technology.
Prior to the start of the meeting, NationaLease held its Tech Challenge, which is the lead-up to the TMC Super Tech Competition in the fall. This event, held the day before the opening of the meeting, involved a hand-on competition between the nine regional winners of an earlier written exam. Winners of the Tech Challenge were announced at the Awards Dinner, along with winners of the Exceptional Service Award given to those organization members who provided exemplary reciprocal emergency roadside service over the last year.
The 2016 NationaLease Maintenance Managers Meeting will be held May 24-26 at the Renaissance in Schaumburg, IL.
