Supreme Commander of HUJI among three militants & Army Jawan kiled in fierce gun battle at Kishtwar

Jammu February 04(Scoop News) – Police and Security forces achieved a major success by eliminating one self-styled Supreme Commander of Pakistan-based HUJI (Harkat-Ul-Jahad-Islami) outfit and his  two  Deputy Commander  in a fierce gun battle in the mountainous district of  Kishtwar  on Thuresday..

According to police the slain terrorists have been identified as  one Pak trained ,Supreme Commander of HUJI, Feroz Ahmed Mengnu code Dawood s/o Haji Mohd Ramzan r/o Tander Dachhan  and his two Dy. Commanders Nazir Ahmed code Abu Furqan s/o Sher Mohd r/o Chichha and Mohd Ishaq s/o Mohd Ramzan r/o Tander Dachhan .

             Reports revealed that after developing information Army (11 RR and 26 RR) assisted by Kishtwar Police launched a search operation at a far flung dense forest area of Khankhu Dhar Ridge near Bela Chichha falling in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kishtwar The suspected area was cordoned and initially contact was established with the hard core terrorists of Harkat-Ul-Jahad Islami . The terrorists fired heavily on the operational parties as a result of which one Army Jawan namely Ravi Kant of 11 RR laid down his life while fighting with the terrorists. Operational parties retaliated forcefully and three HUJI Commanders were gunned down.

Moreover,  one lady namely Babli d/o Bashir Mengnu r/o Tander Dachhan reportedly wife of self-styled Supreme Commander Feroz Ahmed Mengnu code Dawood was caught and arrested by the Police on spot as she was mixed  up with the terrorists and she has also admitted regarding her involvement with the terrorists for the last 3-4 years. The said lady had also used the hideout of Dawood at several times for militancy related acts.

The arms and ammunition recovered from the encounter site which includes ; two AK rifles, one SLR with Magazines and huge quantity of ammunition.

The said Dawood and  his associates were involved in killing of two civilians namely Abdul Majid r/o tander and Nazir Ahmed r/o Tander in which case FIR No. 06/2009 U/S 302,7/27 is registered at  Police Stattion Marwah. Recently Dawood and his associates  had killed two Army Jawans namely Jagdish Singh r/o Punjab and Raj Kumar  r/o Palmar Kishtwar on 28th January 2010 at Tander  Dachhan . Case to this effect  already stands at PS Marwah. He was instrumental and actively involved in fresh recruitment two re-juvenate HUJI outfit in District Kishtwar.

The elimination of Dawood and his Dy.Commanders, is another feather in the cap of Security Forces and Police who have been tracking the movement of Dawood ever since the January 28th incident in which two Army Jawans laid down their lives while fighting the terrorists .

Inspector General of Police Jammu,  Ashok.K.Gupta  has complimented the Police/Army teams which jointly planned and executed the operation meticulously and said that such sustained and surgical Anti-Terrorist Operations would continue to be launched throughout Jammu Zone to defeat the nefarious designs of Anti-National elements.
