Jammu, December 11 (Scoop News) – Use of police force to supress the voice of agitating unemployed physiotherapists in Jammu reminds of the British Rule. In a democracy, forcefully silenting the voice of masses is murder of democracy. This was stated by BJP State President Shansher Singh Manhas while expressing anguish and resentment over the policy of State government of resorting to brutalities on unemplyed physiotherapists.
Taking strong exception of Friday’s incident, Manhas said the way coalition government used police to silent the genuine voice of the agitating unemployed physiotherapists has reminded of the days when British rulers acted as dictators and adopted every inhuman way to ensure that no one dared to speak a word against injustice or agitate for what was due to them. He said that the unemployed physiotherapists have been agitating for the past few months peacefully in Jammu, which is their democratic right. Their demands are lawful and in accordance with the constitutional provisions.
Given the administration’s studid unconcern for these unemployed young persons, they had been left with no option but to agitate and they were agitating in a lawful and peace manner. They were not indulging in vicious stone-pelting or pointing guns on security forces or police men. He said that the police crossed all limits and moral values when males in khakhi resorted to unwarranted manhandling, harassment and lathicharge on the female unemplyed physiotherapists. He said that senior police officers should rein their subordinates and not allow them to run amock while dealing with peaceful agitating young females. After all these agitating youth are our own children.
Extending full suport to the agitating unemployed physiotherapists, Manhas warned the state government not to resort to brutal lathicharge and inhuman treatment. He said that government should frame a policy at the earliest to absorb all these agitating unemployed physiotherapists.
