Survival: Morning Bootcamp

I had to join this exercise bootcamp as part of a work assignment. It’s run by this spa at a hotel and it’s slotted for three times a week, 7 to 8 am. I’m an active person but still I couldn’t bear to haul myself out of bed to do star jumps etc at 7 am, so I shamefully missed the first one of the week on Monday.

Turned out it wasn’t so bad and I had some fun. Yes, they put you through star jumps (always makes me feel like a toad – I hate it), but the group drills make it fun because you get to laugh with (and at) one another. Getting through hardship together three times a week for a month sure makes people bond. Funny though I always get to bootcamp groggily, I come out rather energised and a bit more cheery. 

Some things we did: 

Star jumps

Kicking, running up to wall & kicking, punching

Rope climbing, stretching with rope

Jogging, running around trying to pull towels stuffed behind others’ shorts

stretches, brick-lifting
