It’s a story of sad events that has taken place in this small Gulfport, Ms community. Before taking his own life he is suspected of killing two others before him.

According to WLOX News, Police Chief Alan Weatherford confirms the identities of the two people found dead inside a home Monday afternoon as Karen Denise Ferguson, 45, and her disabled son, Trevor Cole Ferguson, 21. The suspected person believed to have killed them, 70-year-old Paul Ellis Buckman, found only a few hours later inside his apartment with a self inflicted gun shot wound. WLOX’s Rebecca Powers spoke with some of the Ferguson’s neighbors, one neighbor actually saw the suspected killer in the home. Reports from WLBT says the witness did not want to go on camera but told Rebecca Powers of WLOX that Mrs. Ferguson’s younger son who’s 5 years old ran to her home crying and screaming saying,

"the bad man who hurt my brother."

The 5 year old said that the same man was now hurting his mom. The neighbors ran to the home where the crime was taking place, forced in the door and saw Mrs. Ferguson, who told her to "save my baby!" She said she then grabbed the child and ran away with him. The police arrived a short time afterwards but it was to late, Mrs. Ferguson and her oldest son were dead. Gulfport investigators reported to WLOX that in July, they arrested Buckman on a molestation charge. The chief confirms that case was in relation to the Ferguson family. The SunHerald reports that a benefit bank account has been set up to help the Ferguson family and contributions can be made at any branch of Hancock Bank.
