India publicly asked for the release of pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi at the UN Human Right Council (UNHRC) debate on Myanmar.
India and the Philippines are expected to discuss the continuing crisis in Myanmar and call for the release of Suu Kyi when Indian Prime minister Manmohan Singh and Philippines President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo meet for a discussion at the Hyderabad.
Meanwhile China insisted that an international remedy should not be implemented for the crisis in Myanmar.
