SWAT: Security forces have become successful in entering the restive Swat areas of Matta and Khawazakhela and they also managed to take back control of a police station in Matta.
According to ISPR, the residents of Matta welcomed the personnel of Army, Frontier Constabulary and police as they made it to their area. Officers of Civil Administration also accompanied the security forces.The previous day the local residents came to Beryam Bridge check post and requested for restoration of civil administration.ISPR further said that a team of local and foreign journalists was also given a tour of Beryam Bridge check post.They were shown the abandoned position points of militants and the weapons and explosive material recovered from the same.The journalists were also led to a visit of the new check post set up in Matta on the request of locals.The security forces have entered into Khawazakhea area in Shangla where search for miscreants is underway. It is hoped that civil administration will soon take charge of their responsibilities in the area.Meanwhile, militants in North Waziristan fired rockets at Gharlamai and Mir Ali Camps. The security forces retaliated with mortar guns and cannons.
There is no report of any casualties.
