Syrian Army almost succeeds where the US can’t namely killing ISIL terrorist leader Abu Bakr Al-Baqdadi

Elite members of Syrian Army Division 17 track and hunt ISIL terrorists near Al-Reqqa city. Of particular interest is the terrorist leader Abu Bakr Al-Baqdadi.

The leader of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) terrorist group, Abu Bakr Al-Baqdadi, has barely escaped with his life at the hands of members of the Syrian army’s elite Division 17 in Al-Reqqa city, Syria – who have been “bird dogging” Al-Baqdadi everywhere he goes.

This according to a source inside the Syrian Army, speaking by a popular social media networking site (who requested to remain anonymous in this report for security and safety concerns related to his family members in Allepo).

“Al-Baqdadi was injured pretty badly during the operations directed by the Syrian Army against ISIL. In days of intense fighting where hundreds of militants were killed. Some were burned so  badly by the Syrian army’s use of barrel bombs they couldn’t be identified.

A barrel bomb is basically a barrel that has been filled with high explosives, with possibly shrapnel, oil or chemicals, and then dropped from a helicopter or airplane.

In this particular case “a barrel bomb exploded with such force as to almost collapse a building on top of Al-Baqdadi. Outside “were the smoldering bodies of dozens of ISIS fighters.”

Reports also suggest Syrian civilians celebrated the death of ISIL fighters and considered the Syrian army soldiers as liberators against the “US backed terrorists.” Many pleaded to be evacuated to escape the heavy fighting between ISIL and Syrian forces struggling to retake territory.

The Syria Army has been battling ISIL since before they were direct affiliates with al-Qaeda and being funded by the Saudi Arabia , which is largely responsible for funding the rebels in Syria in cooperation with the United States and other Gulf States seeking to overthrow the government of President Bashar Al-Assad.

Then about 3 years ago the United States began formally training and equipping ISIL fighters in secret camps in Jordan.  This apparently in an concerted effort to prolong the civil war that  has uprooted some 6.5 million people from their homes, forced 2.7 million to flee the country, laid waste to cities and towns alike, and unleashed sectarian hatreds that have rippled across the region?

Why exactly the United States would fund terrorists in Syria in the first place is unclear. Except that it was part of President Obama’s insane foreign policy  agenda (See report: Has the Obama administration ever armed ISIS with lethal weapons? FBI wanted poster on Al- Baqdadi.

Meanwhile the clueless FBI and Justice Department is offering a  $10 million bounty on the head of Abu Bakr Al-Baqdadi to anyone who can succeed in killing or capturing the terrorist operative, even as red faced officials at the US State Department have engaged in finger pointing and  suggested that whoever released him from US custody four years ago may now be regretting it.

It is unclear if the US will pay the $10 million to the Syrian Army for doing a job it can’t – namely killing a terrorist psychopath it helped create.

As the foreign-backed insurgency in Syria continues without an end in sight, the US government has boosted its political and military support to Takfiri extremists.

Washington has remained indifferent to warnings by Russia and other world powers about the consequences of arming militant groups.
