Taliban Sneaking into Kashmir Valley:
There are two reports appearing in press which should concern every one of us. One, quoting PTI sources press has highlighted the story of David Kilcullen, American expert on guerilla warfare, predicting the collapse of Pakistan within six months and US former military commander Petraeus also confirmed David Kilculle’s prediction. Petraeus had told this to a congressional testimony last week and had said that insurgency was one which could “take down” Pakistan, which is home to nuclear arms and alqaida.
Kilcullen’s comments came as Pakistan is witnessing unprecedented upswing in terrorist strikes. In the meanwhile New York Times in its analysis has cast its doubts about the success of President Barak Obama’s strategy offering Pakistan a partnership to defeat insurgency and it said that the Pakistan still considers India its enemy number one.
The report had much to do with the conditional support in terms of huge monetary aid US is going to provide to Pakistan. Within days of such announcements appearing in press, we at our side in north Kashmir are facing big intrusion by the Paikstan militants and if reports of some valley news papers and other trusted sources are to be believed a large group of Taliban presence are traced in the Kupwara sector by the army intercepts. Militants are using wireless and satellite to communicate with their mentors across the boarder.
Militants on higher reaches nearly more than fifteen in number are believed to be hardcore Talibans, their intrusion in the area of J&K could change the militancy scenario in the entire state. In the meanwhile there have been reports of army being engaged in gun battle with these militants.
The statement of Indian external affairs minister Pranab Mukherjee saying Pakistan should dismantle its terrorist bases before talking to India on any issue of bilateral nature, sounds completely significant and proper. A ISI fraction of Pakistan secret forces is now internationally accepted helping Taliban and other warring fractions in Pakistan and a much larger portion of it is devoting whole of its time and money sending militants in Kashmir and consolidating base in other parts of India. The design is clear which aims at trying to destabilize growing Indian State and its economy by capturing a large chunk of its economy through black market and counterfeit money and capitalizing on communal issues to get to its side the lead astray minority youth.
The vigilance is essentially the most required mantra. The communal harmony and economic and political stability should not be compromised for petty electoral gains. The country and its people should remain on the top priority of every political party. Politicians need to restrain from raising publicly communal issues especially flaring communal passions of people in Television debates and public addresses. We are sitting very near to one erupting volcano, called, Pakistan. Every one is cautioned to take due care of nuclear state predicted to befall in dangerous hands. Let our leaders be more considerate and concentrate on issues of development and prosperity of our people and desist from any divisive and communal politics. Both so called secular and right wing Hindus and Muslim need to take care.
