PESHAWAR: The defunct and banned Tehreek Nifaze Shariat-e-Mohammadi (TNSM) in Pakistan’s insurgency-hit Swat valley Monday appealed the militants to hold off armed activities. The chief of the TNSM Maulana Sofi Mohammad was talking to journalists in a press conference in Swat valley.
“Don’t to interfere in the matters of local administration and restrain from movement carrying weapons openly,” Maulana Sofi Mohammad appealed to the Tehrik Taliban. He demanded that government should take steps for eradicating the public problems and release the TNSM prisoners.He appealed the people to cooperate in succeeding the Sharia system in the area, adding that Sharia System will be imposed from today. He said that Sharia Mohammadi is the way of their lives and through this way we could bring peace in the region.
“Security forces should shifted from people houses, schools and mosques to some other places,” the chief of the defunct Tehreek Maulana Sofi Mohammad demanded the government. He also appreciated the role and struggle of media in establishing peace in the area. “Third party can be involved in killing of the journalist Musa”, adding that” we will try our best to capture the real culprit”, Maulana Sofi Mohammad added.
On the other hand, the spokesman of the Pakistan Army Lieutenant General Athar Abbas said that the objective of the operation in Swat valley was to clean the area from militants. “The operation was for establishing government writ and now we have suspended the military operation due to some political purpose”, Director General Inter-Services Public Relation of army Lt. Gen. Athar Abbas revealed.
He said that that Pakistan army has lost one thousand and 340 soldiers during the operation. He added that they have cut off the supply line of the militants. “The state cannot control the militants,” DG ISPR further said in press talk in Islamabad this Monday. He said that the militants have FM radio in more than 30 places and we have no techniques to stop it.“Militants have been funding by anti-state elements from Khaleej and other countries through different source,” DG ISPR Lieutenant General Athar Abbas disclosed.
Similarly, NWFP government spokesman Provincial Minister for Information Mian Iftikhar Hussain expressed his reaction on the statements of Maulana Sofi Mohammad and said that government will observe and view his demands after establishing government ‘s complete writ in the area. “Establishment and restoring of peace in the region is the first priority of the government,” spokesman Provincial Minister for Information Mian Iftikhar Hussain said.
