Technology Trust Welcomes Shopify to the tt-exchange Programme

Technology Trust has announced that Shopify, a leading cloud-based commerce platform designed for small and medium-sized businesses to manage their stores across multiple sales channels, has joined the tt-exchange programme. UK charities will now be able to set up and run their own online shops through donated one-year subscriptions.

Eligible charities must pay a single admin fee (£66 for charities with less than £300k annual income; £132 for charities with over £300k annual income) to receive a one-year subscription to the Shopify Unlimited Plan. This is a saving of nearly 95% off the standard annual fee, and allows charities to manage an unlimited number of products with unlimited storage space.

Shopify provides a complete ecommerce solution and a range of tools to help organisations design a storefront, manage inventory and accept secure online payments. The platform integrates with over 50 payment gateways, including PayPal and WorldPay, and can be used within new and existing websites.

“We are thrilled to have Shopify join tt-exchange. Physical charity shops raise around £290m each year for causes across the country – how much more could be raised through online sales?” said Richard Craig, CEO of Technology Trust. “Providing UK charities with an accessible ecommerce platform such as Shopify will allow them to not only raise valuable funds, but also to further raise awareness of their causes online.”

This offer is only available to NEW Shopify accounts and can only be accessed by organisations, not individuals. After one year, charities can downgrade their subscription to a specially discounted non-profit plan. This Shopify subscription may only be used to create stores that support the requesting charity.
