Senator Ted Kennedy’s early morning health scare yesterday has been identified as a seizure, according to this family physician Dr. Larry Ronan. While his condition was described as "serious", Dr. Ronan said Kennedy was "not in immediate danger".
Ted Kennedy, 76, will undergo further tests at the hospital to determine the cause of the seizure and prevent future risk. Just seven months earlier Massachusetts Senator Kennedy underwent surgery to prevent a stroke by repairing an artery with a "high-grade blockage."
Presidential candidates Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and John McCain all issued official statements on the news, with Barack insisting he would be "optomistic" about the outcome and Hillary mentioning her "prayers" were with the family,
Ted Kennedy’s website has no further news of his condition at present.
