Texas man arrested after raping 19 women

Mexico: A Texas man has been arrested for raping 19 women across the border in the northern Mexico, authorities said.

Jorge Alberto Mendez, 42, was arrested while trying to cross into Mexico from El Paso, Texas, where he lives.

The investigation began with the rape of a 15-year-old girl and similar cases were subsequently reported.

Eventually, one of the victims’ managed to wrote down the license plate number of her assailant, that led to Mendez’s arrest.

Mendez prowled residential neighbors during the day and attacked at night, sometimes entering bedrooms through windows.

He allegedly threatened his victims -between 13 and 20 years old- with a gun.
