Arlington Texas. The owners of the Texas Rangers baseball team will be having a talk with their current general manager Jon Daniels, 37, to see if they can retain his services beyond the 2015 Major League Baseball season when his current contract is set to expire.
Daniels has been the general manager of the Rangers since October 2005. Daniels has assembled a baseball team that has been to three postseason appearances and played in the World Series twice.
The Rangers owners do not want to lose the services of Daniels since they have faith that Daniels will be able to find a successor to replace Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington who resigned on September 5, 2014 due to personal reasons that he decided not to reveal to the public.
The 2014 Rangers baseball team has a current record of 53-89 which is currently in last place in the American League Western Division. The Rangers will not make the playoffs for the first time since the 2012 baseball season.
The 2014 Texas Rangers baseball team suffered injuries to their star players. It is not the fault of Daniels that the players on the Rangers roster could not play baseball this season due to their injuries.
It remains to be seen if the Rangers management will be able to retain Daniels as their general manager past the 2015 baseball season or will Daniels will be employed by another baseball team when his current contract expires.
The 2014 Major League Baseball season has been one of the darkest in the history of the Rangers franchise since they moved from Washington D C after the 1971 baseball season.
