The 3 days seminar by BASIS ends

Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) has organized Seminar on "Clustering for the Multimedia and Software Development".

The 3-day seminar titled "Clustering for the Multimedia and Software Development " at Business Centre, Aamra Management Solutions, on July 16, 17 and 19 2008. The seminar was conducted by Dr. Thies Wittig, who is an IT consultant GmbH from Germany. Mr. T. I. M. Nurul Kabir, Project Director of IT-Upgrade Project, chaired the sessions.

The topics "An introduction to the clustering","Understanding Clusters and Outsourcing", and "Cluster Positioning, Branding and Marketing" were covered during the seminar. The final day was a workshop where the future practical steps and pros and cons of forming a Bangladesh Software Cluster were discussed. The three-day seminar was attended by 32 MDs, CEOs and CTOs of BASIS member companies. President of BASIS Mr. Habibullah N Karim and other directors were also present in the seminar.

On the final day Mr. Ghulam Hossain, Joint secretary Ministry of Commerce and Coordinator of ICT Business Promotion Council and Mr. Shawkat Ali, Director of Information, Export Promotion Bureau attended as special guests.
