The 5th International Elephant Race and Sauraha Food Festival 2008 is scheduled to be held from December 26th to January 1, 2009 in Bagmara Sauraha Chitwan, Nepal with the theme of “Natural beauty, Chitwan Sauraha’s Attraction” stated a press conference here at Nepal Tourism Board on December 22nd.
The elephant’s festival would be held from December 26-28 where as the sauraha food festival would be held from December 29 to 1 January. The program highlights various activities like cart race, boat race, elephant daily routine show, cultural dances etc.
“The elephant race would include 20 participants where all the elephant are professionally trained and are in a healthy state. Moreover, like last year the organizers are expecting more than 0.5 million visitors. We want to establish this event as a hub for the awareness and conservation of elephants highlighting the relation between man and animal,” stated the organizers.
