JEREMIAH:33:6-9; “Behold I will bring it health, and cure, and I will cure them, and reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth. And I will cause the captivity of Judah, and the captivity of Israel to return and will build them as at the first. And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me, and I will pardon their iniquities whereby they have sinned and whereby they have transgressed against me. And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honour before all nations of the earth which shall hear all the good that I do unto them: and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure unto it.
Through these verses in Jeremiah we learn that there will come a time when God will bring around good health and cures for many illnesses and at that time the people will be witness to an abundance of peace and truth brought around by God.
We are further told that through God’s holy grace and mercy that for those who believe, God will cleanse his people of all of their sinful transgressions and iniquity and that God’s people will experience goodness and prosperity, and that news of this will spread to all the nations of the earth as they witness God’s awesome power and love for his people.
The beginning of these promises begins with the birth of Jesus, for none of it can take place until God himself takes on human form.
We ask ourselves, could God not accomplish all of these things he promises without Jesus taking on flesh and becoming man.
The obvious answer is yes, yes of course he could, but then how would the people recognize that this is the power of God being made manifest.
What would prevent some high ranking person like a Herod, or, a Caesar laying claim to being God claiming to perform all of this.
When Jesus begins his ministry, 30 years after his birth, he begins with healings, healings both physical and spiritual.
When Jesus is later crucified, we become through belief, faith, dedication and love for Jesus eternally cleansed of our sin and iniquity, sealed by the seal of God and through the time from the crucifixion to present we are witness to God’s generosity which is not simply a financial generosity, but his compassion, his love, his gentleness, and yes even financial generosity as God works through each of our lives providing that which is needed in our lives.
This is especially evident when one looks at countries like the USA. or Canada, or Western Europe, even in China and Japan where God demonstrates his generosity, his love and compassion in so many differet ways, for all the world to see.
