The Aquaponic Source Announces Spring Launch of “AquaMini Systems”

Most people experience stress while at work, and finding a way to reduce it may be as easy as taking along a pet to the office. In fact, according to a study in the International Journal of Workplace Health Management, the presence of dogs at work decreases stress levels in the workplace. Unfortunately, most offices do not allow pet owners to bring their pups to work. The Aquaponic Source offers a new solution that keeps bosses happy and will help to reduce stress – take fish to work. This month, with the release of three new AquaMini Systems, people can not only have a fish tank at the office, but a full eco-system with flowers or herbs.

“The Aquamini Systems are available in three different sizes, so you can choose the perfect fit for you and your space,” explains Sylvia Bernstein, president of The Aquaponics Source, and author of the book “Aquaponics Gardening: A Step-By-Step Guide to Raising Vegetables and Fish Together” (New Society Publishers, October 2011). “These Systems combine a fish tank with a garden, working together to support each other. The result is enjoying watching your fish swim around while helping your plants flourish.”

Varying from a small 1-gallon bowl to a 4-gallon tank, the new Aquamini Tabletop Systems product line offers three new systems:

Aquadorables. The mini pods for fish and plants are excellent gifts for family and friends, or to keep yourself. The pint-sized ecosystems offer interchangeable plant pods and a one-gallon freshwater aquarium connected by an innovative wicking system. Aquadorables are available in black, white or red for $39.95.

Aquaminiums. The half-moon shaped acrylic Aquaminiums are available in black or white. The wick-based, self-watering planter absorbs the water and nutrients from the LED lit aquarium below. The Aquamimium is suitable for orchids, herbs, houseplants, and cut flowers and is available for $59.95.

Aquaponicals. These systems are designed to be complete aquaponic eco-systems comprised of plants that live in a symbiotic relationship with 3-4 aquarium fish. The Aquaponical system holds up to four gallons of water and is available in black or white. Aquaponicals are the ideal environment for plants to grow either at home, classroom or the office and priced at $149.95.

“You can also purchase an education set with a test kit and an introductory curriculum or a combo kit to combine two half-moon Aquaminiums into a full moon,” added Bernstein. “The AquaMini systems are designed to be compatible in any environment, in any shape or size. Each system is one step closer to understanding our eco-system firsthand and working towards healthy living.”
