The Baltimore Ravens report that their Ray Rice jersey exchange program is a success

Baltimore Maryland. The Baltimore Ravens report on Saturday their program to give their fans a new football jersey in exchange for the football jersey of former running back Ray Rice has been successful.

The football jersey exchange took place at M & T Bank Stadium in Baltimore Maryland on Friday and Saturday. The Ravens have in exchange for the Ray Rice jersey will give  their fans a jersey of another football player on the team. The replacement jersey is free.

Rice was suspended indefinitely by the National Football League on September 8, 2014. The reason for the suspension was due to a  TMZ Sports video that showed Rice punching in the face his then girlfriend and now wife Janay inside an elevator at a casino in New Jersey. The punch to the face of Janay knocked her out cold. The day of the video being released was on Monday September 8, 2014. Rice was released by the Ravens that same day.

The irony of this event is that on Thursday September 11, 2014 at M & T Bank Stadium in Baltimore Maryland a lot of Ravens fans of both genders were wearing Rice’s jersey number in support of their former running back.

Fast forward nine days later after Ravens football game versus the Pittsburgh Steelers, a lot of those fans have now trading their football jerseys for another player.  The lesson is you can  be a sports hero one day and when the hero makes an error off the field the hero becomes the town villain.
