The Believers

In general people have their own individual form of beliefs and perhaps a devotion that actually interplay with their own way of living. To some extent, belief or shall we say faith has a psychological effect on the people in which case they presumed that faith alone is the only way to deliverance from harm or destruction.

Although belief or faith has lost its relevance in the society in some part of the world, others who are guided by their devotion and religious fervor gathered their strength to prove to the world that faith or belief is presumably could heal their souls and spirits. Apparently, they are motivated to follow the path where the altar of salvation awaits them.

To describe an example of fervent spiritual feelings, hordes of people of different social classes, creed and ethnic background are religiously attending the healing mass of a young Filipino priest, Fr. Fernando Suarez. Fr. Suarez became popular after his healing power was featured on national TV. When he was still in Canada, apparently Fr. Suarez healed a lot of sick people and even returned back to life a person who was already dead for hours.

The Canada based Fr. Suarez was encouraged to return to the Philippines to conduct his healing session. It was in late 2007 when he decided to stay for good and founded Monte Maria Shrine in Batangas City, Batangas just kilometers away from Manila. From then on, hundreds of thousands of people are coming to his place just be healed of their illnesses.

Terminally ill patients, bed ridden people, men and women with serious illnesses and others travels all the way from the different places hoping that their maladies will be healed by Fr. Fernando Suarez. Their desire to experience the healing power of Fr. Suarez gives them reason to firm-up their faith and to be enlightened because they are called “The Believers.”
