We all new about the story that scientists are trying to recreate the conditions a few moments after the Big Bang.
They already have fired a beam of particles (protons) around the 27km-long tunnel (Large Hadron Collider).
The machine is designed to smash particles together with cataclysmic force and it is situated inside the earth on the Swiss-French border.
It is known the fact that the switch-on itself is two years late and the LHC is one of the most complicated if not the most complicated and ambitious experiment made by humans and it is operated by the European Organization for Nuclear (Cern).
Engineers injected the first low-intensity proton beams into the LHC in August.
On Wednesday, they sent a proton beam around the full circumference of the LHC tunnel.
The amount of data expected from the experiments will be so huge, CERN will use LHC Grid (60.000 computers located around the world) to manage to calculate the results.
It is also suspected that the project was deliberately sabotage when engineers found two beer bottles edged into the beam pipe.
But this project is not new, the idea of the Large Hadron Collider emerged in the early 1980s but approved only in 1996.
If everything works like planed in the future also, we’ll see. One thing is sure, we teach kids not to mess with things they don’t yet understand but we are doing it ourselves.
