As a few Kenyans wait in anticipation as they watch televisions and follow radio news keenly on war on al-shabaab, others have resumed to normal working as usual. Despite bomb threats, early this week, business in the city of Nairobi has resumed as normal.
As I walked through the busy street of Nairobi, touts, drivers, shopkeepers, bar owners and even twilight girls continued with their businesses as usual. To me, it came as a surprise since I expected a deserted street.
It seems as if Kenyans mind their own business while the governments minds its own. Unlike many countries that go to war, no one could notice a war atmosphere. In contrary, some people had even come to discos and clubs in town even after a bomb blew one of the night pub. To me, it seems Kenyans are extremely forgetful, and one day would be taught a lesson they will never forget.
