The Education Policy and it’s implication
In the life of Oscar Wilde, Hesketh Person quotes the famous man of letters as saying ,” Every body who is incapable of learning has taken to teaching—— that is really what our enthusiasm for education has come to .’’ The idealistic projection of romantic fantasy.’’ Education policy is In a state of confusion. All who are seriously concerned would agree that educational achievement and economic success are closely linked – both at the micro- level for an individual and at the macro-level for a nation, what has established the idea so unshakeably in people’s mind is evident that education or the luck of it is the principal cause of maladies pacing the nation . Poverty , population explosion ,high mortality , poor health and safety , and many more .As one puts one’s fingers on the problems of inadequate mass education , any solution confronts a long list of obstacles dealing with poor infrastructure , lack of trained teachers ,and staff and the establishment of proper institutions, complete with proper management . All those developments need time and that is why , as a developing nation we are most short of . We have a lot of catching to do .
A last word, we already see round- the- clock banking and shopping , why not extended hours of schooling? Mass based evening education promises to turn into a quiet revolution .But , even in the midst of S. S. C. appointments are made from Alimuddin Street in the name of ‘’ democratisation ‘’ of education, ,senates and courts of the universities are filled with such people who have very little to do with education. The whole story of kick –back of education should not be deposited in number accounts in Swice Bank telling it a fabrication engineered by media – barons in collusion with others. In our country ,every thing takes a twist like ‘’Alice In Wonder Land ‘’ You can only touch the tip of ice-berg. We are like the ostrich which buries it’s head in the sands hoping the enemy will go away.
A hefty syllabus , regular exams ,unsatisfactory results, pressing extra- curricular ,parents ambitions , — there is no end to causes that brother children these days . They always do not prefer sharing agony with parents or teachers. It is here that professional counsellors step in. The education policy here ,’’ the epitome of an crucifixon’’ The system here is no system . A million
Volts electricity raises your hair on end if you happen in a present class room. A trip in a time- machine takes you to the Pyramid of ancient Egypt easily , than to satisfy your teacher in class –room . A trip to the far-way planets may be required in a quest for ‘’ a planer beyond earth.’’ You think yourself in the midst of most ferocious carnivores , baring their fangs , in the middle of Africa’s ‘’Serengeti’’ forest . Then you can feel what your children think seating in a class-room .A captivating experience in the only space dome of it’s kind in our state . ‘ Do you see any joy in the faces of our school –children? You see fear, anxiety, stress, tension, apprehension and anger for the system and schooling. We have ‘’civilised ‘’ their beautiful barbarity. The sword of examination system will forever torture our youngsters and their parents.
Let us fight for our children’s lost barbarity , their lost freedom , their lost childhood . Could we not hope for such a change ? We look forward to being able to hold out still more hope for you , so that soon , please God, no child , not yours not anyone’s , will again say in the context of school , ‘’Dying is easy.’’
