Ayun, Chitral: A social welfare organization from the village of Ayun, in the northwestern Pakistan, took out a rally against the drugs here today.
A large number of people, students, religious personalities, politicians, and shopkeepers participated in the rally, later on, the religious and social personalities from Chitral, addressed the rally.
They urged the district administration of Chitral to make arrangements to halt the wine trafficking from Kalash valleys to Chitral and other parts of the district.
The Kalash valleys like Bamborate and Romboor where the wine is brewed on commercial level and then it is smuggled to other parts of Chitral, as a matter of fact, last year the drunk driving caused some accidents that claimed some precious lives.
The participants, Mufti Mir Hisam-ud-Din, a religious personality, addressed the rally and expressed his concerns over the drug trafficking and the plight of the new generation that is falling prey to the social evils like drugs.
Mr. Kahlid Zafar, a social worker and founder of the social welfare organization addressed the rally and urged the need to apprehend the people who are involved in drugs and wine trafficking.
They also praised the efforts of a Police official, from Ayun Police station, Mr. Sahib-ur-Rehman, a havaldar, who has made great success to apprehend many smugglers, while trafficking the wine from Kalash valleys to different parts of Chitral., who was appointed at Ayun Police station some 7 months back.
