In todays Daily Mail an article screamed that half of Britons will be obese by 2050, according to a landmark study. The Foresight report, with contributions from around 25o leading scientists, warned that it will take up to 30 years to reverse "Britain’s obesity crisis". Apparently being seriously overweight can cut life expectancy by up to 13 years, while smoking reduces life by an average of 10 years, the research concluded.
Here’s a gem from its Online comment page.

"Simple answer. Before birth test for genes that predict a person is likelyto smoke, drink, and be fat. While their at it, the baby could be tested to see if it was likely to be happy and enjoy life (that would be a big no no). Then terminate the birth. The world would then be only populated by eco-friendly,
miserable, God fearing, nanny state loving kill joys. Most of whom would then become religious leaders, politicians or civil servants."
