Islamabad: In the TV debate on a private news channel, Live Talat, the participants, Moinudin Haider (Ex Army chief), and other military experts expressed their concerns over the issue of pilotless drones across the border, into Pakistan.
The experts also told that Pakistan will have to review its policy in the war on terror with US, even being a non NATO ally of the coalition forces, out areas are being targeted and yesterday when the settled area of Bannu was targeted by a guided missile, killed 7 people.
They also added that there are options open for Pakistan, like pulling out the troops from the tribal areas and stop the operation against the insurgents, cutting the supply line of coalition forces through Pakistan, when our national sovereignty is being violated by the US.
We should send a proper signal to US that these are our limits and this is the level of cooperation in the war on terror and we should review our policies and there will come a moment when we will say, this is enough.
When we look at the ground realities, the Pakistan establishment has lost the public support over the military operations in tribal areas and Swat valley against the Taliban and Al-Qaeda insurgents; moreover, US image is also badly damaged by the drone attacks from Afghanistan.
Pakistan President, Prime minister, and other officials from the establishment have condemned these drone attacks even parliament has passed a resolution in the house to stop them, but no positive response has come from US so far.
