If you’re trevelling in any Eastern railway train’s general boggies-don’t talk or befriends with strangers!-If you do make friendship with your co-passengers and anyway delightely eat or drink any things offered by them out of friendship there is a chance that you might be drugged and looted by con men,operating in this rout.
The railways department, particularly the East Central railwys in Bihar deesn’t know how to stop these conmen who are drugging and looting train passengers from past many years which have now increased and riding onto looting spree in this winter.
These conmen are known as Nasha-Khurani gang,mainly target innocent migratory laboures and workers who used to return home with their hard-earned money at the break of every work session.The modus-operandi is very simple and quick, they first befriend the co-passengers during the long distance train journey and then offer tea,coffee or other eatables,which are laced with intoxicants and when their prey fall unconscious they steal all the valuables of the victims secretely and escape.
According to a report, around 300 railways’passengers hve so far been drugged during the recent month alone and property worth about several lakhs of rupees were looted by these gangs.Not only this , sometime the drugs-used by these gangs proves fatel due to overdose as around dozen of victims have died or remained in unconscious state for several days.These drugging and looting cases generally happen in Patna bound trains coming from Punjab or Delhi regions and mostly reported to originate from Alhabad or Kanpur (U.P.)stations.
Although, the Eastern railway department and railway police have been launching an awareness campaign at all the major stations and sends railway police personel in plain cloths in running trains of this rout as well to catch them red-handed but they,ve got no success so far anyway and this drug menace is still hunti
