(1888 PressRelease) Beach music legends are honored by North Carolinians, Woolard uses recognition to promote cause oriented campaign.
Stamford-Norwalk, CT – The Embers, featuring Craig Woolard were recently added to the list of North Carolina Music Hall of Fame inductees. The band will be formally honored on October 16th, 2014 at a red carpet ceremony at the historic Gem Theatre in Kannapolis, NC. Other artists to be honored include Clay Aiken and Fantasia Barrino who were both on the hit show America Idol.
Inductions at the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame are held annually to honor and commemorate those who have made significant contributions to American music. Notable past inductees include James Taylor, Alicia Keyes, John Coltrane, and Ben E. King, among others. The Induction Ceremony will be a historical, entertaining, and educational evening honoring some of North Carolina’s most outstanding music makers with entertainment provided by North Carolina Music Hall of Fame inductees, including The Embers, featuring Craig Woolard.
Craig Woolard, lead singer of The Embers, will announce that his dedication to his music is rivaled only by his love for family and his desire to make a difference in the lives of others. One aspect of The Embers Band that distinguishes it from its counterparts is the fine tuned and longstanding hits that have been made throughout the decades, and the partnership with a free mobile app, foodtweeksTM.
Through music and a dedicated following of fans in social media and at concerts, Craig Woolard has used the growing recognition of The Embers band to become an ambassador for a free mobile app that helps him manage his weight on the road and feed the hungry through food bank donations. Using The Embers as a platform through which to speak about the benefits of foodtweeksTM, he is encouraging the use of the app all throughout the southern states and along the eastern seaboard.
foodtweeksTM is visible at each show and on all media to generate interest in the mission to create a healthier America by tackling two large problems facing Americans today, being overweight and being food-insecure. By engaging fans to use a free app that feeds the hungry while its users trim calories, he is helping to fight for a cause he truly cares about while doing what he loves, performing music.
“This year, Jay Walker, Founder of Priceline, reached out to me to become an ambassador for the hungry through a mobile app called foodtweeks. I now can use my microphone for a greater use, to succeed in “TAKING THE BITE OF HUNGER” with my #BeachMusicCares campaign,” said Craig Woolard, lead singer of The Embers. “I thank God everyday for allowing me to make a living by doing something that I so passionately love, and now I am able help others while I do. Being honored by the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame as an inductee, along with such national legends and stars as Tab Smith, Jimmy Capps, Little Eva, Clay Aiken, and Fantasia has only made my experience sweeter. I am a very blessed man!”
The campaign called “Taking The Bite Out of Hunger” is being promoted through each show and with an online presence. A recent contest has also been added to drive more users to download the app. Smartphone users who download the app and enter the “EMBERS” promotional code are entered to win a FREE cruise from a lottery of all downloaders. There is also another option to win the cruise which is to prove that you were able to get the most people to download the free mobile app by taking “selfies” each time a friend downloads the app and posting them to social media. About foodtweeksTM:
foodtweeks™ has two missions: to help people eat better in a sustainable way, and to fight hunger in America. For every calorie our users “tweek” from their food, foodtweeks™ makes a donation to a local food bank so they can distribute the same number of nutritious calories to feed a hungry child and their family. There’s no cost of any kind to the foodtweeks™ user and it’s easy for food banks to participate.
