Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia:
Balasubramaniam, the private Investigator who enjoyed the limelight during the Altantuya Trial is now missing, and the Malaysian Police are puzzled.
Why are there two Statutory Declarations from the same man concerning the same subject. To make it more intriguing the two declarations are contradictory to the other.
The subject matter in both declarations are that a certain VIP in Malaysia and his wife was present when a ‘high-profile’ murder was committed. This was vehemently denied by the VIP and his wife.
The fact that the content of this statutory declaration was made public at all made the news. It was real hot! To state the obvious fact that the VIP is now at the peak of his power cannot be deemed sensationalising since he is indeed near the very top of Malaysian Politics.
What irked the Legal Fraternity here is the fact that he, Mr BalaSubramiam had a lawyer draw out another declaration within the space of 24 hours. The latter declaration did not only cancelled out the former but stated that he was forced to sign the former.
" I am extrenely surprised that Bala, in a space of 24 hours, has engaged another lawyer and affirmed another statutory declaration, swearing the first one was untrue and that he was forced to sign it." Mr Americk Sing Siddhu, Balasubramaniam’s first lawyer.
Mr Balasubramaniam has been missing for several days and is widely thought to be overseas.
The Malaysian Police wanted to know what transpired within that 24 hours and who were the actors involved.
