It is said that in Shuja’s time the famous Husainy Dalaan (House of morning for Hazrat Husain) was constructed in Dhaka in 1642 by one Mir Murad .Mir Murad is reported to have been the chief of the royal ‘nawara’ (fleet of boats).
On the extinction of the Nawab-Nazems of Dhaka the late Khajeh Alimullah and his direct descendents became the Mutawalli of the Imambara. The building is now preserved under the Monument Preservation Act.
