The UK awards, recognising brands with innovative employer brand strategies, has announced its 2016 shortlist
London, 08/03/2016 – This year, for the first time ever, an awards ceremony hosted by Transform magazine, the Employer Brand Management Awards (EBMAwards), will recognise numerous aspects of employer brand management strategy. The awards are no longer accepting entries, and the shortlisted brands and agencies have been announced.
Shortlisted organisations include Deutsche Bank and ThirtyThree, Hyundai and Penna, Schillings and Goosebumps Brand Consultancy, Heathrow and Blackbridge, Fitness First and Avon, to name but a few. Categories include ‘Best communication of the employer brand to the external audience’, ‘Best short-term or one-off employer brand campaign’ and ‘Best alignment of the employer value proposition with corporate brand values’. The winners of the ultimate awards, ‘Best creative execution of the employer brand’ and ‘Grand Prix of employer brand 2016’ will be announced on the night.
The nominated organisations and projects were selected by an esteemed group of industry experts that includes employer brand, HR, recruitment and internal communications specialists, as well as other, senior corporate communications professionals. Judges derive from major corporations such as Vodafone, Philips, BMW, Aviva and IHG.
Simon Barrow, creator of the employer brand approach and a EBMAwards judge, says, “It was a privilege to be on this team and work with experienced colleagues who really understand what employer brand management is all about.”
For branding and communications professionals, particularly those working in talent management, HR and recruitment, the concept of the employer brand is likely to have been on the radar for some time. First coined by Simon Barrow and Tim Ambler in 1996, the term employer brand refers to an organisation’s reputation as an employer. Since it is a form of branding, the employer brand proposition tends to be closely linked to the way that the organisation in question is perceived more generally by its stakeholders – whether that be its investors or its customers – as well as its current and prospective employees.
The EBMAwards winners will be announced at a ceremony on 26 April, 2016 at The Brewery in London.
