There is no team. There are stars and more stars in Indian cricket.
The trend was started from the very early beginnings of Indian cricket and continues today. There was the Nawab who was made captain because of his star lineage.
Then came the little master whose only aim was to enter his name in every record book; and he was very successful at that. He certainly was a star.
The second little master was moulded by the first little master and so his appetite for setting records at the cost of his team winning, can be understood.
The present captain is not a leader but a star batsman who at best can wear down bowlers by his defense and by the time he scores anything of value, the match is either drawn or lost. He is also a star talker who says the same thing after every match.
What India needs at the moment is not stars but hardworking players and the solution could come from either all the senior players resigning (which will never happen) or the Indian Cricket League taking over.
