Namaste!
You know that you’re halfway through the hottest period of the year when the cribbing about heat and power cuts being unbearable, becomes unbearable.
"Is there anything to look forward to during March, April and May?", I hear.
The joys of summer, of course!
Ahh, nothing like the sniff of that special early morning spring air to get energized. The urge you get to fill your lungs with this fresh energy as you walk, makes you break into a jog and, sometimes run.
A cold shower – that simple joy before and after a hard days work makes one feel so wonderfully refreshed, doesn’t it?
Hmm…, you prefer a hot Jacuzzi to get all relaxed, do you?
My favorite delight on a hot summer afternoon is to sink my teeth into a slice of cool, crisp, delicious red watermelon, slurping its juice as it trickles down.
The abundance of fruits and the dip in their prices as summer progresses is most convenient for those looking to start a new, healthy habit. Cool tender coconut and fresh fruit juices that you find in every corner is more appetizing and healthy than any packaged drink.
Er… yeah, except for chilled beer, I guess.
Teachers and children – they’re the lucky ones who always get the full benefit of summer and enjoy nearly two months of fun filled vacation. Yep, if I had a second chance, I’d rather be a teacher than anything else.
Swimming! Yes, I was coming to that. Swimming on Saturday mornings becomes a ritual, especially with the water all warm and inviting. For a good three months you get to exercise and tone up every single cell in your body.
No, thats not a reason to relax for the next nine months!
The beginning of summer sees flowers in full bloom, bringing out the birds, butterflies and bees, signaling la la la, love in the air?
Summer is all about enjoying the cool night air while getting an unbridled view of the heavenly bodies, chatting up with the One you love, before finally drifting off to sleep, blissfully oblivious of the power cuts that keep many awake.
I know you’re wondering what all this rambling has to do with Ground Report. But wait! Dont leave, I have a connection.
The joys of summer does give one a lot to write about doesn’t it?
