We all have a tendency to find fault in others. In fact, criticising, complaining and blaming have become fashionable. People seem to enjoy wallowing in
self-pity, whining or commenting, It seems as if they revel in being victims.
That is not the way to achieve success. We have to take responsibility for our actions
and thoughts. We have to create a brave new world and realise that the onus for a better
tomorrow lies with us. A verse that we all learnt when we were kids comes to mind, its
simple message appropriate:

Because of the nail, the shoe was lost.
Because of the shoe, the horse was lost.
Because of the horse, the rider was lost.
Because of the rider, the battle was lost.
Because of the battle, the kingdom was lost.
And all because of a horseshoe nail.
Is the nail to blame? Who is to take responsibility for the lost kingdom? Is success
possible for those who pass the buck? I believe that now is the best time in the
history of the planet to be alive. Never has there been more opportunity for the ordinary
man or woman to have an impact on the world and create change in it. If you had been a woman or a minority member just 50 years ago, it would have been impossible even to pursue your interests beyond the boundaries society imposed It is only when on you. The wonderful you give your inventions and technologies of today, the personal consent
computer and the Internet, to something that have empowered the individual

Where it was once a capital-intensive world of steel mills and assembly lines, it has become a world of innovative ideas and personal vision. To succeed in today’s world, you do not need millions of dollars. All you need is imagination and courage. And the strength to own up to all that you do. In other words, all you need is your mind, and
will power!
As Richard Bach puts it: “Within each of us lies the power of our consent to health and sickness, to riches and poverty, to freedom and to slavery. It is we who control these, and
not another.” It is only when you give your consent to something that it becomes your reality. This is not to say that changing one’s attitude is a simple matter. It is much easier, safer and comfortable to let the constant pull of mediocrity hold you back. Somehow, somewhere along the development of our own personalities, we have come to expect that we are owed something. We have adopted the mistaken notion that if the nation is experiencing an economic upswing, we deserve our share. This is an attitude that encourages weakness and takes away from the power of the individual; this is
certainly not the stuff millionaires are made up of.
