Danish brewing company Carlsberg has come with a great and funny commercial ad (as usual, shall we say!) to show its support to the England national team at the Euro 2012 Tournament.
It shows an imaginary “England Fan Academy” where England fans are taught how to become “great fans” and to support their team through goal celebration or English summer weather conditions, etc.
Then… it also features a two-second appearance of Diego Maradona (well… a lookalike!) who is seen washing the floor with a mop at theAcademy. [it can be seen at 1:05 on the video!]
The advert, who Argentinians say it “insults” them, has sparked anger on Twitter and Facebook from the South-Americans, who now ask for a boycott of the Danish firm’s products.

The Carlsberg advert can, of course, be seen as a direct response to Argentina Presidency’s controversial Olympic advert, broadcasted last month, that was showing an Argentinian hockey player, Fernando Zylberberg, exercising on a British war memorial in in the Falklands capital Port Stanley, ahead of the London 2012 Olympic Games, boasting: “To compete on English soil, we are training on Argentine soil.”Zylberberg who has, since, been dropped from the national team!

Argentina 1.
England 1.
Who will have the last word?
Let’s wait and see… and enjoy! That is, for as long as that “war” remains a marketing one!
