The Mysore Zoo also called Chamaraja Zoo is probably India’s best zoo at the moment. As far as the area of the zoo is concerned it may be less big if compared with the Alipore Zoo in Kolkata. But the maintenance of the animals and birds makes it unparallel. The administration of the zoo is also something which provides a separate status for the Mysore Zoo.

 

One of the reasons for the good maintenance is the adoption of the animals and birds by the dignitaries in the state. Anil Kumble had adopted a ziraffe. Some of the tigers are adopted by the Chief Minister of the State. Whenever the celebrities adopt the animals and birds they contribute a lot for the food and maintenance of the animals.

 

Besides the Zoo authority is also very loyal. The animals namely Gorilla, tigers, elephants, deers, fox, lions are either kept in cages or in green pastures which are walled for the safety of the visitors. The tigers, lions, beers are very well fed and not sickly. Besides a lot of disinfectants and deodorants are applied to neutralize the smell of the animals.

 

Visitors can get good coconuts which are sold within the Zoo. The entry tickets are reasonable enough and photography is allowed. The zoo authorities should continue to do the great job that they had already done for years.
