One of the Wipro’s top manager Chandrasekar recently resigned his job and became the CEO of Hexaware as a chief executive. Chandrasekar was a part of Wipro for the past 8 years and he was a part of core management team reporting directly to CEO of Wipro Azim Premji. Chandrasekar Migrated to Wipro after working in General Electrics.
The off screen reason for his resignation is because of re-organization inside Wipro and two executives teaming up for the CEO position. The company said that this is was not the issue behind his resignation. “Someone as senior is not likely to join at anything below CEO-level. His joining will boost Hexaware’s image and visibility as well.” Wipro said.
A senior software executive said “When Chandrasekar joined Wipro, it was only a Rs 2,000 crore company. He has seen it grow from that level to where it is today, and also contributed to it. He has experience in M&A, headed Europe operations and now both America and Europe. Hexaware will benefit from having such a person….It was Vivek Paul who brought him to Wipro or probably, Premji himself”.
