The Pak political and judicial crisis comes to an end

 Islamabad, Pakistan: At last the snow started melting and the Pakistani premier Yousaf Raza Gillani appeared on the TV at 5:00 in the morning and announced the restoration of deposed judges.

 

The whole Pakistani nation is jubilant at the historical decision of the ruling group, Pakistan Peoples’ party.

 

The country was in real crisis and all the eyes were at the political turmoil that has dragged the country to an unending problem.

 

The judges of the highest court, the supreme court of Pakistan was deposed by the former military dictator, Pervaiz Musharraf, that ignited the fire across the country, in shape of protest rallies and long marches by the lawyers, political activists and civil society.

 

 Later on the protest turned into a lawyers’ movement and then the opposition parties like PML (N), Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf, Jamat-e-Islami and other groups also supported it.

 

The opposition parties announced to stage a long march and sit-in at Islamabad on the 16th of March for the restoration of judges.

 

The Police detained numerous activists and lawyers, trying to get to Islamabad, from different parts of Pakistan.

 

The roads and highways were blocked by the trucks and containers by the Police in different parts of Pakistan and all the entry points into Islamabad and Rawalpindi were sealed.

 

On the 15th of March, Lahore was turned into a battlefield at different points and there were reports of clashes of Police and activists.

 

Hundred of thousands started marching towards Islamabad and a rally the PML (N) chief, Mian Nawaz Sharif, was leading the long march and when it reached Kala Shah Kakoo of Gujranawala when the decision was made and announced on the media.

 

The people came to streets today and celebrated the news especially the lawyers who have rendered great sacrifice for the independent and free judiciary in Pakistan.
