Swat, Pakistan: The head of Tehrik-e-Taliban Swat chapter, Maulana Fazlullah, while talking to BBC from some undisclosed destination said that he has lifted the complete ban on the girls’ education.
In past, Taliban in Swat torched hundreds of girls’ schools in Swat valley and threatened the parents of the girls, seeking education.
He said that Taliban would not object to the girls seeking education up to fourth class, however, Taliban had imposed a complete ban on the girls education in Swat valley.
He added that the education that is being imparted to the girls in these schools is Western and not in keeping with the teachings of Islam, it is only making us wayward.
We have blown up those schools that were occupied by the Pakistani security forces so we had retaliated; on the other hand, the Pakistani security forces were not showering on us the petals of flowers.
