Chitral, N.W.F.P: The transporters in Chitral on strike on the second straight day.
In the past few months, when the Oil prices hit the highest prices in the international markets, the Pakistan government also increased the transport fares all over Pakistan but within a couple of months the prices the oil prices again hit the rock-bottom position, consequently, the prices should have go down so the government decreased the prices all over Pakistan, but troubles started in Chitral where the district government tried to give relief to the masses but the transporters refused to do that, so they went on strike.
Chitral, a remote region of North Western Pakistan, located in the lap of Hindukush, which is these days totally cutoff from rest of Pakistan, no road accessibility, because of the excessive snow on the passes like Lowari pass 3100 m towards Peshawar and the flights are not operated because of the hazy and cloudy weather in the mountainous region and there are hundreds of locals from Chitral, stuck in Peshawar and Chitral and the plight of the gas stations is also regrettable where Gasoline is not available.
